BUCAS CENTER IN BOKOD
April 2, 2024
The Municipal officials and employees of Bokod headed by Mayor Thomas K. Wales Jr., and Vice Mayor Erik Donn Ignacio, warmly welcomed DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire during their courtesy call on April 2, 2024 at the Municipal Mayor’s Office.
They discussed the proposed Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) center in Bokod, Benguet. USec. Vergeire presented the soon-to-be-available BUCAS center which aims to address the ambulatory medical and surgical care needs of the people in the communities. A municipal-LGU-building located within Benguet State University – Bokod Campus was identified and will be improved to serve as the BUCAS center.
The BUCAS Centers (previously proposed and referred to as “NAUC Centers”), are meant to bridge the gap between primary care facilities (rural health units) and hospitals by offering a comprehensive range of services for patients seeking health services even during weekends.
No darkness would ever settle upon those lamps, as no darkness had settled upon them for hundreds of years. It seemed dreadful that the town should blaze for ever in the same spot; dreadful at least to people going away to adventure upon the sea, and beholding it as a circumscribed mound, eternally burnt, eternally scarred. From the deck of the ship the great city appeared a crouched and cowardly figure, a sedentary miser.
